Movie Tavern® by Marcus to Present the Best Picture Festival February 1 & 8

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

In anticipation of the 92nd Academy Awards®, Movie Tavern® by Marcus invites moviegoers to start a new tradition by attending its first annual Best Picture Festival. The two-day event will give Cinephiles and casual moviegoers alike the opportunity to see all seven theatrical nominees for Best Picture, back-to-back over two Saturdays, February 1 (day one) and February 8 (day two). To round out their Oscar prep, attendees will also be able to enjoy nominated animated and live-action short films as part of the festival line-up.

Admission for each day is sold separately. A ticket to see all four movies on day one is $35, and a ticket to see all three movies on day two is $28. For more details, please visit: www.MarcusTheatres.com/BestPicture

 

FOOD AND BEVERAGE SPECIALS:

To fuel their moviegoing marathon, festival ticket holders will receive 20 percent off all food and beverage purchases. Additionally, a special food and beverage package will be offered at all locations for an increased ticket price. The package includes unlimited popcorn and soda; two meal vouchers for any appetizer, salad, sandwich, smash burger, pizza or dessert; and gratuity. (Note: Advance ticket purchase is required for offer eligibility. Valid for ticketholder on day of event only.)

 

SCHEDULE:

Day One: Saturday, February 1

 

10:30 a.m. — Nominated Live-Action Short Films (Various ratings; 120 minutes)

1:05 p.m. — “Little Women” (PG; 135 minutes)

Jo March reflects back and forth on her life, telling the beloved story of the March sisters — four young women each determined to live life on her own terms.

3:55 p.m. — “1917” (R; 119 minutes)

Two young British soldiers during the First World War are given an impossible mission; deliver a message deep in enemy territory that will stop 1,600 men from walking straight into a deadly trap — including the brother of one of the soldiers.

6:35 p.m. — “Jojo Rabbit” (PG-13; 108 minutes)

Jojo is a lonely German boy who discovers that his single mother is hiding a Jewish girl in their attic. Aided only by his imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler, Jojo must confront his blind nationalism as World War II continues to rage on.

9 p.m. — “Joker” (R; 122 minutes)

In Gotham City, mentally troubled comedian Arthur Fleck is disregarded and mistreated by society. He then embarks on a downward spiral of revolution and bloody crime. This path brings him face-to-face with his alter-ego: the Joker.

 

Day Two: Saturday, February 8

10:30 a.m. — Nominated Animated Short Films (Various ratings; 85 minutes)

12:30 p.m. — “Ford v Ferrari” (PG-13; 151 minutes)

American car designer Carroll Shelby and driver Ken Miles battle corporate interference, the laws of physics and their own personal demons to build a revolutionary race car for Ford and challenge Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966.

3:40 p.m. — “Parasite” (R; 132 minutes)

All unemployed, Ki-taek and his family take a peculiar interest in the wealthy and glamorous Parks, as they ingratiate themselves into their lives and get entangled in an unexpected incident.

6:35 p.m. — “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” (R; 161 minutes)

A faded television actor and his stunt double strive to achieve fame and success in the film industry during the final years of Hollywood’s Golden Age in 1969 Los Angeles.
