Marcus Theatres® Unveils New Amenities at Orland Park Cinema for Holdiay Season and Beyond
Theatre offering recliner seating, new food and beverage options in time for “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”
Milwaukee, December 13, 2016... Marcus Theatres®, a division of The Marcus Corporation, is showing off a renovated Orland Park Cinema in time for “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” and the holiday moviegoing season. The theatre will feature an enhanced entertainment experience with two new food and beverage concepts and recliner seating in each of the theatre’s 15 auditoriums, including heated recliners as part of the UltraScreen DLX® experience.
“Marcus Theatres has invested significantly in the southern Chicago suburbs over the past several months and we’re thrilled to round out 2016 with new comforts and conveniences for moviegoers in the Orland Park community,” said Rolando Rodriguez, president and CEO of Marcus Theatres. “With the addition of these innovatons to Orland Park Cinema, local moviegoers now have the opportunity for a complete night out all under one roof.”
In anticipation of the opening of “Rogue One” this Thursday evening, Orland Park Cinema will introduce a new food and beverage amenity in the theatre lobby, known as the Take FiveSM Lounge. Guests will be able to mingle in a casual, relaxing atmosphere and enjoy a cocktail, appetizer or meal before or after a movie. Menu items, including beverages, can also be taken into any auditorium to enjoy during the show. The Take Five Lounge also offers an enormous, wall-mounted screen where patrons can watch sporting events.
The Take Five Lounge will join another new food concept known as Reel Sizzle®, which opened at Orland Park Cinema in late November. Inspired by classic Hollywood and the iconic diners of the 1950s, Reel Sizzle serves up menu items prepared on a griddle behind the counter, such as burgers, chicken tenders, crinkle cut fries with ‘sizzle seasoning’ and signature shakes. In its first weeks of operation, Orland Park Cinema guests have embraced the concept with positive reviews of the Americana fare, particularly the Reel Stack burger, loaded fries and other items.
These food and beverage amenities are in addition to the DreamLoungerSM recliner seating installed in all 15 auditoriums earlier this fall. Guests can go from a seated upright position to a full recline at the touch of a button, for the comforts of home and double the legroom between rows. Additionally, Orland Park Cinema became the first in Illinois to offer heated recliner seating in its UltraScreen DLX auditorium. Guests can turn the heat on or off with a button on the recliner’s armrest.
These new offerings at Orland Park Cinema are part of a multi-million dollar investment Marcus Theatres has made in the Chicagoland area, where the company now operates six theatres and 100 screens. Orland Park Cinema is one of three locations in the southern suburbs, along with Chicago Heights Cinema and the new Marcus Country Club Hills Cinema, which opened in October following a massive renovation.
